When we get out of the way

Kingsfield Church began as Calvary Chapel of Laguna Beach in October of 1997. From the very first meeting at the Laguna Beach city hall, our church has had a strong passion to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to see each person in the church community grow in their knowledge of God.

It was clear that God was working and had great plans in store for the future. The church community was marked with energy, passion for worship, and preaching the Gospel, making Calvary Laguna an exciting and magnetic place to be. The Church body began growing and God began shaping lives in a powerful way. We started looking for more ministry space and soon found ourselves moving to a warehouse in Irvine on Dec. 24th 2001.

Since the beginning God has continued to move in a powerful way and our story has continued to unfold. As we have experienced seasons of transition, God has always shown Himself faithful and has brought us to a place of dependence upon Him in every way. In every season of ministry together God has continually done more than we ever could have expected.

He has taught us over and over again that the work being done here is His work. We each play our part, but ultimately it's the work of His hands... we plant, we water and participate in whatever way He calls us to, but ultimately He imparts the life and He gives the increase. When we get out of the way, He takes things to levels far beyond what we could dream.

In 1 Cor. 3:9 Paul is speaking of this very fact and then states "for we are God's fellow workers; and you are Gods field...". In light of Paul's words and the theme that God continues to speak over us as a body, we accepted the name Kingsfield in October of 2007 as a reflection of our mission and dependency upon Him.

The leadership of Kingsfield recognizes that Jesus alone leads the church and seeks to stay close to Him in all that He calls us to do. As we move forward we look for God to mold and shape us in a way that we would continually grow in our effectiveness of fulfilling our commission.
